User Groups

Organize users into groups for scheduling, timesheet filters, and the calendar.

Overview

User Groups sort your team into named sets, such as "Field Technicians" or "Office Staff". Each user belongs to one group at most. Groups are used to:

  • Schedule an event for a whole group at once, with Schedule for → By user group.

  • Filter employees by group in Timesheets and payroll reports.

  • Group people together on the Calendar.

  • Choose which group's members customers can book through online booking.

User Groups live on the Groups tab of Team in the main sidebar. They no longer appear in the Calendar's More options menu.

Before You Begin

Prerequisites:

  1. Your role has Team → View to see groups, and Team → Create, Edit, or Delete to change them.

Viewing groups

  1. Click Team in the sidebar.

  2. Click the Groups tab.

Each row shows the group name and its members' avatars.

Creating a group

  1. Click + Group at the top right.

  2. Enter a Name.

  3. Under Users, select the members.

  4. Click Save.

Expected result: The group appears in the list with its members' avatars.

Note: A user can belong to only one group. Adding someone to this group removes them from their previous group.

Editing a group

  1. Click the group's row, or click its More options button (⋯) and select Edit. The Edit User Group form opens.

The Edit User Group form with Name and Users fields
  1. Change the Name, add members, or click the × beside a member to remove them.

  2. Click Save.

Expected result: The group's name and member avatars update in the list.

Deleting a group

Click the group's More options button (⋯), select Delete, and confirm. The members stay in Forz; they are only removed from the group.

Permissions

User Groups use the Team permissions in Custom Roles: View shows the tab, and Create, Edit, and Delete allow the matching changes. There is no separate User Groups permission. If a button is unavailable to you, clicking it explains which Team permission is missing.
