Getting Started with Forz

Complete your first job lifecycle — from creating a customer to generating an invoice — in under 10 minutes.

Overview

This guide walks you through the core Forz workflow that dispatchers and admins use every day:

  1. Add a customer

  2. Create a job

  3. Schedule the job

  4. Complete the job

  5. Generate an invoice

By the end, you have a working understanding of how jobs flow through Forz.

Step 1: Add Your First Customer

Every job needs a customer. If you already have customers in Forz, skip to Step 2.

  1. Click Customers in the sidebar.

  2. Click the New Customer button.

  3. Enter the customer's Name (e.g., "Riverside Office Park").

  4. Add an Address — this is the service location that appears in the Route Planner.

  5. Click Save.

Expected result: The customer record opens with the name and address you entered.

Tip: Add a Contact on the customer record (e.g., "Maria Lopez, Facilities Manager"). Contacts receive notifications and appear on jobs linked to this customer.

Step 2: Create a Job

  1. Click Jobs in the sidebar.

  2. Click the New Job button.

  3. Select the Customer you created in Step 1.

  4. Select a Job Type (e.g., "Maintenance").

  5. Enter a Description: "Quarterly HVAC filter replacement and system check."

  6. Click Save.

Expected result: Forz creates the job with a unique job number (e.g., JOB-1001) and sets its status to "Unscheduled."

Note: Forz auto-generates the job title from the system type and job type. You can edit the title by clicking it in the detail view.

Step 3: Schedule the Job

  1. Open the job you created.

  2. Click the calendar icon next to Event in the left column.

  3. Select Form View.

  4. Choose a date and time for the service visit.

  5. Select an Assignee — the technician who performs the work.

  6. Click Save.

Expected result: The job status changes to "Scheduled." The assigned technician sees this job on their calendar and mobile app.

Tip: Use Schedule Suggestions to let Forz recommend the best time slot based on technician availability and travel distance.

Step 4: Complete the Job

After the technician finishes the work:

  1. Open the job.

  2. Click the Status control in the left column.

  3. Select Complete (or your final status).

Expected result: The job status updates to "Complete" and the Status Updated timestamp records the completion time.

Step 5: Generate an Invoice

  1. Open the completed job.

  2. Go to the Overview tab in the right column.

  3. Click Add Line Item and add the products or services performed (e.g., "HVAC Filter — Qty 4 — $12.00 each").

  4. Click Generate Invoice.

Expected result: Forz creates a draft invoice with all line items copied from the job.

Warning: Each job supports one invoice. Add all line items before generating. If you need to adjust, edit the invoice directly after generation.
